MONTEREY COUNTY, CA (January 29, 2025) – Tuesday morning, a woman died in a horrific pedestrian crash on Abbott Street near Harris Road.

The incident happened at 3:29 a.m. on Abbott Street near Harris Road.

CHP Monterey County reports that the driver of a Ford Transit ambulance, owned by American Medical Response, was traveling along Abbott Street when a woman walked into the roadway.

The driver attempted to swerve to avoid her but was unable to do so, and the ambulance struck her.

She suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her identity has not yet been released as the investigation remains ongoing.
