1 Killed in a Fatal Truck Accident on Highway 99 near Visalia [Fresno, CA]

An 18-year-old Dies after Being Struck by a Truck on Highway 99

 
Fresno, CA (April 9, 2020) – On Wednesday evening, an 18-year-old man was killed after being hit in a truck accident on Highway 99 near Visalia.
 
The truck accident occurred after 7:30 p.m. on April 8. The California Highway Patrol arrived at the south of Merritt Drive on Highway 99.
 
According to reports, the man stopped on the right shoulder of the northbound lane for a depleting tire.
 
While standing outside of his car, an on-coming semi-truck struck him, knocking him over.
 
Due to the extreme impact, officers pronounced him dead at the scene. However, the identity of the deceased has not been released.
 
Meanwhile, the truck driver remained at the scene, cooperating with the preliminary investigation.
 
Further so, officers say neither drugs or alcohol was a factor of the crash.
