HOUSTON, TX (March 14, 2023) – Early Monday morning, a person died in a pedestrian crash on Gulf Freeway near Edgebrook.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:28 a.m. on the Gulf Freeway, just before Edgebrook.

According to the METRO Police Department, the crash happened as a driver operating a First Class Tours bus provided contract services for METRO Park & Ride.

The pedestrian, whose identity remains undisclosed, was pronounced dead at the scene.

After the crash, the left shoulder, left lane, and center lane of the Gulf Freeway remained closed during the investigation. Also, the lanes remained shut for approximately three hours before reopening to traffic around 9 a.m.
