1 Dead in San Jose Auto Accident on 14900 Camden Avenue

SAN JOSE, CA (September 17, 2024) – Friday night, a woman died in a brutal traffic crash on 14900 Camden Avenue.

The San Jose Police Department reported that officers responded to a single-vehicle crash late Friday night around 11:55 p.m. on the 14900 block of Camden Ave. in the Cambrian Park area. The investigation revealed that a 2006 white Ford pickup truck was performing reckless maneuvers, such as doing donuts, in a parking lot.

The truck was occupied by a male driver and three passengers—an adult female and two adult males. During the incident, the female passenger, seated in the front, fell from the vehicle onto the pavement and was struck by the truck. The driver rushed her to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Police stated that the driver and the two other passengers remained at the hospital. Alcohol was determined to be a factor in the crash, but authorities clarified that the incident was unrelated to any sideshow activity. The driver was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on charges of vehicular manslaughter and DUI.

This incident marks the 37th fatal collision and traffic death in San Jose this year. The victim’s identity will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office.

Authorities urge anyone with information about the case to contact Detective DelliCarpini from the San José Police Department’s Traffic Investigations Unit or provide anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers for a potential cash reward.
