BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 27, 2025) – Tuesday night, a man died in a brutal pedestrian crash on 900 Union Avenue near 9th Street.

The incident happened at about 10:51 p.m. in the 900 block of Union Avenue near 9th Street.

When officers arrived, they found a man with severe injuries, and emergency responders later pronounced him dead at the scene. 

According to police, the crash occurred when the driver of a silver Honda coupe was heading north on Union Avenue while the pedestrian was crossing eastbound. The driver stayed at the scene, and investigators do not believe speed or alcohol played a role in the incident.
