1 Dead in Rancho Cucamonga Motorcycle Collision on 15 Freeway
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA (February 11, 2020) – A person was killed in a big rig and motorcycle collision on 15 Freeway late Monday morning.
The incident happened in the southbound lanes of 15 Freeway near 4th Street around 11:34 p.m. Dispatchers arrived shortly after receiving reports of the accident.
According to police, the motorcyclist went underneath the big rig, leading the big rig driver to veer and crash. However, the events leading up are unclear.
In addition, the crash led to the big rig catching fire. It also caused fuel to enter nearby storm drains.
The surrounding area was closed off during preliminary duties. However, by 4:00 a.m., three lanes reopened. The victim’s identity remains unreleased.
