57-Year-Old Man Dies in Head-On Collision on Highway 152 in Gilroy

 
Gilroy, CA (January 25, 2021) – Early Monday morning, a 57-year-old Gilroy man died, and a 64-year-old Aurelio Martinez sustained injuries after a head-on crash on Highway 152.
 
The Gilroy fatal crash happened at about 3:05 a.m on January 25, west of Lovers Lane.
 
The CHP said the Gilroy man was driving a 1990 Honda Accord eastbound when, for unknown reasons, he crossed over the double-yellow line and collided with a 2008 Honda Accord traveling the other direction.
 
The impact resulted in the immediate death of the driver. Meanwhile, Martinez was taken to hospital with moderate injuries.
 
At this time, it is unspecified if alcohol or drugs are factors in this collision.
