72-Year-Old Man Killed in Multiple-Car Collision near Longmont
LARIMER COUNTY, CO (June 26, 2018) – A 72-year-old male passenger in a van died and 5 other people were injured in a fatal road collision on 25 Freeway near Longmont, on Tuesday morning.
The collision involved a van from a Larimer County shuttle company that is currently involved in a personal injury lawsuit from a separate incident.
Officers with the Colorado State Patrol reported that a white 2011 Chevrolet passenger van was traveling northbound in the left lane of Interstate 25, at 8:30 AM near mile marker 239. At the same time, a 2006 Chevy sedan was traveling in the same direction next to it.
The two vehicles collided, causing the van to skid into the grass median between the freeway and the frontage road, and roll over. The van at the scene was from Estes Park Shuttle, a company that offers daily rides between the Estes Park area and the Denver International Airport.
Five other occupants of the van, including the driver, were transported to an area hospital with various injuries. The driver of the sedan was not injured in the collision, and the identities of the victims were not immediately released to the public.
