Two Vehicles Collide Head-On on Highway 1 in Lompoc, One Fatality Reported
LOMPOC, CA (February 14, 2020) – One person died and two others were critically injured following a head-on crash Friday evening in Lompoc.
The crash happened around 6:22 p.m. on Highway 1, just south of Santa Rosa Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a yellow Mazda Miata and a maroon sedan collided head-on for unknown reasons. Paramedics responded to the scene and extricated the occupants from their vehicles.
Despite life-saving measures, one of the patients died at the scene. The identity of the deceased was not immediately available.
A second patient was critically injured, while a third one suffered moderate injuries.
Officials closed all lanes on Highway 1 for the on-scene investigation. It is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.
