WINDSOR, CA (June 26, 2019) – One person was killed and two others were injured following a multi-vehicle crash on River Road.

The crash happened Wednesday around 1:20 p.m. just East of Olivet Road near the Martinelli Vineyards & Winery entrance.

According to initial reports, a silver Hyundai Santa Fe was heading eastbound on River Road when the driver crossed into the oncoming lane for unknown reasons. It sideswiped a white Ford Ranger that was traveling westbound.

A white Honda CR-V traveling westbound behind the Ford Ranger appeared to have tried to avoid the oncoming Hyundai after it struck the Ford Ranger, but was unable to.

The CR-V’s female driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was killed in the crash, officials said. Her identity has not yet been released pending family notification.

A man and a woman in the Hyundai were transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with minor to moderate injuries. The driver of the Ford was not injured.

The Hyundai sustained major front damage, the Honda CR-V had major damage to the driver’s side doors and windshield, while the Ford pickup had damage in its rear wheels.
