Driver Dies  after Four-Vehicle Crash on Northbound Interstate 5 in Tehama County

Tehama County, CA (December 17, 2021) – Friday evening, one driver died and two others sustained injuries in a four-vehicle crash on Northbound Interstate 5.

The Tehama County fatal four-vehicle crash happened at around 5 p.m. on December 17 just north of Red Bluff. 

 The California Highway Patrol said the driver of a Jeep Cherokee was traveling at an unsafe speed and failed to stop in time and rear-ended a Honda Civic, causing a chain reaction of crashes into two other vehicles. 

As a result, the driver of the Honda Civic suffered fatal injuries. 

Moreover, the driver of the Jeep Cherokee and the passenger of the Honda Civic were each transported to the hospital.

The driver of the Jeep was not placed under arrest.

No other information is immediately available.

Further investigation into this fatal crash is underway.
