Omar Chavez-Sanchez Dies in Accident on State Route 223 in Granger City

 
Granger City, WA (September 13, 2020) – On Saturday evening, Omar Chavez-Sanchez, 37, died, and a 38-year-old Hugo Nunez from Yakima sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 223.
 
The incident happened just before 9 p.m. on September 12 on State Route 223 in Granger City.
 
According to reports, Hugo Nunez was driving northbound on SR 223 about a quarter-mile south of the Granger City limits when his Chevrolet C6500 crossed the center line.
 
Nunez then collided with a green Chevy Silverado driving southbound. The Silverado’s driver was declared dead at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, Nunez was transported to Astria Sunnyside Hospital.
 
Drugs or alcohol are not potential factors in the crash. A further investigation on this Granger City crash is ongoing.
