57-Year-Old Man Dies in Head-On Crash at Pomeroy Road in Nipomo

 
NIPOMO, CA (July 8, 2019) – One person died following a head-on crash at Pomeroy Road Monday afternoon in Nipomo, authorities said.
 
The crash happened just after 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of Pomeroy Road and Sandydale Drive.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a silver pickup truck and a dark gray SUV collided head-on. In addition, one of the drivers allegedly crossed the double yellow lines around the curve and hit the other vehicle.
 
The impact caused major front-end damage on both vehicles. Occupants were reportedly trapped inside the involved vehicles.
 
Arriving crews confirmed one fatality as a result of the crash. Police only described the victim as a 57-year-old man.
 
Paramedics transported another patient to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
Police are still investigating the cause of this accident and more information will be provided when accessible.
