1 Dead, 1 Injured after Suspected DUI Driver Hit Another Vehicle in Fullerton
FULLERTON, CA (April 2, 2019) – One person was killed and another was hospitalized after a suspected DUI crash in Fullerton Monday morning.
Authorities received reports of the auto collision at approximately 9:51 a.m. First responders arrived at the intersection of Euclid Street and West Valencia Drive soon after.
Police quickly identified the at-fault vehicle as a stolen SUV. The suspect allegedly struck a Honda with two occupants inside. The driver of the Honda was found suffering traumatic injuries, and taken to a nearby hospital upon medics arrival.
Furthermore, the passenger suffered life-threatening injuries upon impact. The severely injured victim was later pronounced dead due to the extent of his wounds.
Witnesses said the driver of the SUV was speeding and driving erratically. He was eventually taken into custody on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle. Police later said that he was also believed to have been driving under the influence of drugs.
The surrounding area was blocked off for a brief time while crews worked to clean and finish preliminary investigation. No further information has been given to the public at this time.
