1 Killed, 1 Critical in Street Race Crash on Interstate 30 [Arlington, TX]

One Person Arrested After Fatal Street Race Crash on Interstate 30 in Arlington

Arlington, TX (January 12, 2023) – Sunday evening, a driver died, and a passenger was injured in a street racing crash on Interstate 30 near Fielder Road. 

Subsequently, police arrested the other driver, 23, for one count of Racing on a Highway and causing serious bodily Injury / death.

The Arlington Police Department said they located an overturned vehicle off the highway. It was submerged in a small body of water. 

Firefighters extricated both men from the vehicle. The driver, a 27-year-old man, died at the scene. Arlington EMS transported a 22-year-old passenger to a Fort Worth hospital in critical condition.

Investigators said the driver attempted to pass a car on the right shoulder of Interstate 30. He then lost control and went off the road.
