Man Hospitalized after Semi-Truck Crash on Interstate 8 in Alpine 

East County, CA (February 17, 2023) – Early Friday, a 26-year-old man sustained serious injuries in a semi-truck crash on Interstate 8 in Alpine.

The crash happened about 12:45 a.m. on February 17 in eastbound lanes west of Tavern Road.

CHP said the man was standing on the driver’s side of a 2002 Cadillac Eldorado on the right shoulder of the freeway when struck by a big rig.

Moreover, the big rig hit the car where a second man stood, and a woman seated inside. They remain uninjured. 

EMS rushed the victim to a San Diego hospital with serious injuries.

No details about the tractor-trailer driver at this time.
