Sacramento, CA (April 18, 2025) – One person sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 5.

A multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 in Sacramento shut down several lanes and caused heavy traffic delays on Friday afternoon, according to the California Department of Transportation.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., the Sacramento Fire Department and additional emergency crews responded to a crash involving three to four vehicles on the southbound side of I-5 near Arena Boulevard. 

While the cause of the crash remains under investigation, responders transported one person to a local hospital with unspecified injuries, according to Sacramento Fire.

A second ambulance was also en route to assist another injured individual.
