18-Wheeler Driver Arrested after Monte Cristo Road Crash in Edinburg

Edinburg, TX (March 31, 2023) – Friday afternoon, one person sustained injuries in a DUI crash on Monte Cristo Road.

The crash on Monte Cristo Road in Edinburg happened at approximately 3:15 p.m. on March 31. 

Edinburg Police said the driver of the 18-wheeler, a 53-year-old man, drove against traffic and hit the dump truck east of the intersection of Monte Cristo Road and Doolittle Road.

EMS took the second driver to a hospital with minor injuries. 

Police then arrested the 18-wheeler driver on charges of intoxication assault.

Further investigation into this crash is ongoing.
