One Person Hospitalized After Crash on State Route 20 in Paradise Cove
Paradise Cove, CA (February 27, 2025) – One person sustained injuries in a crash on State Route 20.
A traffic collision on eastbound State Route 20 near Paradise Cove blocked both lanes of the roadway around 8:55 a.m., according to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page.
Emergency crews coordinated with an air ambulance service to transport at least one injured individual from the scene.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) and emergency personnel responded, with Cal Fire also assisting in the rescue efforts.
Officials requested a heavy-duty tow truck to help recover the vehicles involved, which reportedly included a dump truck pulling a trailer and a Ford Fusion, though authorities had not confirmed those details.
According to Caltrans QuickMap, traffic backed up in both directions. Tow services and Caltrans crews received alerts to assist in clearing the scene.
Authorities advised travelers to expect delays while emergency responders worked to clear the roadway and provide medical aid.
Caltrans issued a traffic alert, stating:
“Route 20 is fully closed in Lake County at Pingree Road west of Glenhaven (PM 22.59) due to a traffic collision. Currently, there is no estimated time of reopening.”
Later, Caltrans updated that:
“Route 20 is open to one-way traffic control in Lake County at Pingree Road west of Glenhaven (PM 22.59) following a traffic collision.”
The CHP Traffic Incident Page also confirmed that emergency responders transported one patient to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital via REACH Air Medical Services.
