LOS ANGELES, CA (June 16, 2025) – Sunday night, an alarming hit-and-run crash on 5th Street and Hill Street injured 1 person.

The incident happened at around 7:35 p.m. near the intersection of 5th Street and Hill Street near Pershing Square.

One person was taken to the hospital following a hit-and-run crash, police said.

The suspect was reportedly driving a red Toyota. The incident occurred as a protest was taking place downtown on Sunday afternoon. Around 4:34 p.m., LAPD noted that demonstrators were marching westbound on 1st Street through Little Tokyo.

Police have not said whether the crash was related to the protest.
