Injuries Reported in Santa Barbara County Auto Accident on Highway 101 and Highway 1

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, CA (March 27, 2025) – Tuesday night, a driver suffered injuries in an alarming 2-vehicle crash on Highway 101 and Highway 1.

The incident involving a vehicle and a commercial truck occurred at 10:40 p.m. on northbound Highway 101, just north of the Highway 1 exchange.

Reports indicate that the crash temporarily shut down the northbound lane near Lompoc.

According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the injured driver managed to exit their vehicle before being transported by ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. The commercial truck driver was uninjured.

Fire crews successfully contained a diesel fuel leak from the damaged commercial truck. The collision was reported at 10:40 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the fire department.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
