1 Injured in Beaumont Pedestrian Crash

 
BEAUMONT, CA (February 27, 2020) – A person required hospitalization after a pedestrian crash on Highway 79 on February 23.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol reports, a car struck a person on Highway 79 in Lamb Canyon. The collision also led authorities to shut down southbound lanes for two hours and issue a SigAlert.
 
By 12:47 p.m., the authorities reopened all lanes.
 
As per CHP reports, a collision was first reported at 9:55 a.m. on the southbound side of Highway 79, near California Avenue. A car reportedly overturned multiple times off the right-hand shoulder of the highway.
 
At 10:38 a.m., a tow truck driver was struck. It’s still unclear whether the driver came to help in the initial crash. The extent of his injuries remains unreleased as of this time. However, the authorities dispatched an ambulance to the scene.
 
The crash also led the California Highway Patrol to temporarily shut down California Avenue.
 
The Riverside County Fire officials revealed that another person received treatment at the scene. However, the individual refused hospitalization.
