1 Hurt and Massive Gas Leak Caused by Car Collision on Arden Way [Arden, CA]

1 Injured in Arden Car Accident

ARDEN, CA (January 11, 2019) – A person sustained injuries and a massive gas leak occurred following a car collision on January 9.

As a result of the collision, some business resorted to opening their establishments late, including the Arden Fair Mall. Before 7:00 a.m., a loud hissing sound was heard blocks away from where a silver sedan collided with a Pacific Gas and Electric Equipment.

Sacramento Fire Capt. Keith Wade stated, “Upon arrival, crews found a person that needed to be extricated from the vehicle with some injuries. They removed that person. That person was transported to a local area trauma hospital. They are in stable condition at this time.”

According to reports, both directions of Arden Way was shut down which unable customers to get to the mall. The Arden Fair Mall was one of the 120 customers that were affected by the gas leak.

“PG&E does their best to move as fast as they can to isolate these types of leaks and get service back to the businesses that are affected,” Wade added.

Another establishment affected by the gas leak was a Shell station across the street from the mall. Because of the incident, the customers were not able to get to Balbir Dhillon’s gas station’s pumps.

“It was closed for two hours to locate the control valve,” Dhillon stated.

After three hours, the roads were finally opened but PG&E is still working. The repairs will be completed Wednesday night.

The factors that caused the collision is still being investigated.

Meanwhile, PG&E advised customers that if they happen to have a gas leak in their neighborhood, it is best to call the police and PG&E as soon as possible.
