GASQUET, CA (March 23, 2020) – Late Friday morning, at least one person was hospitalized after a two-car collision on Highway 199 in Del Norte County.
 
California Highway Patrol received calls regarding the incident around 11:39 a.m. Dispatchers arrived to the area near Fire House Road, shortly after.
 
According to reports, a Toyota Tacoma collided with a four-door sedan. However, the events leading up to the collision are currently unclear.
 
A CHP incident log also confirmed that the impact left one person with injuries. Medics took them to Sutter Coast Hospital for further treatment. Their identity has not been released.
 
The surrounding area on Highway 199 was closed off during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
