Injuries and Major Damage Sustained in Collision near High Street

OAKLAND, CA (November 12, 2018) – One person was hospitalized after a multi-car crash on 880 Freeway, early Monday morning. The cause of the pile-up was not yet determined as of report time.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported around 9:34 AM, just south of High Street. Authorities recovered five vehicles at the scene. The parties were described as a white big rig, a green van, a red or black sedan, and two unknown cars. One of them was seen with fuel leak and smoke from possible fire. It was not yet clear in what circumstance the pile-up occurred.

The paramedics were requested for needed medical assistance. One person was transported to Highland Hospital for treatment of injuries. Fortunately, the victim’s condition was considered minor and not life-threatening. No other injury was reported.

Due to impact of the crash, all cars sustained major damage. The area surrounding area of the incident was closed while Officials ordered a clean-up at the scene and began their investigation, but no additional information has been released to the public at this time.
