1 Hospitalized after Hit-and-Run Crash on Genesee Street and 36th Avenue [Seattle, WA]

1 Injured in Seattle Auto Accident on Genesee Street

 
SEATTLE, WA (October 25, 2020) – Friday morning, a person suffered injuries after a police pursuit crash on Genesee Street.
 
The authorities located a stolen vehicle on South Orcas Street and Martin Luther King Jr Way South shortly after 4:00 a.m. The officers attempted to administer a traffic stop. However, the driver escaped.
 
Afterward, the authorities spotted the vehicle on South Genesee Street and 36th Avenue South and the driver began to flee. Unfortunately, he collided with another vehicle.
 
The suspect driver attempted to run from the crash scene. However, the officers managed to stop and detain him.
 
Meanwhile, the Seattle Fire Department extricated the driver hit by the suspect. Responders took him to Harborview Medical Center with a possible broken shoulder.
 
On the other hand, the officers discovered a small quantity of narcotics and a realistic air pistol. They found it in the fanny pack the suspect wore on his shoulder.
 
The authorities booked the 34-year-old male suspect into the King County Jail for possession of a stolen motor vehicle. He also received charges for eluding a police vehicle, hit and run, vehicular assault, and possession of narcotics.
 
Moreover, the police added that they may face charges for a violation of a city law on weapons in public places. The city code states that it’s “unlawful to knowingly carry or shoot any spring gun, air gun, sling or slingshot in a public place.”
