1 Hospitalized after Car Collision on 8 Freeway [El Centro, CA]

1 Injured in El Centro Auto Accident

 
EL CENTRO, CA (April 1, 2020) – Monday afternoon, one unidentified victim was hospitalized after a car collision on 8 Freeway.
 
California Highway Patrol responded in the westbound lanes of 8 Freeway, near Mile Marker 61.
 
According to reports, a silver Mercedes collided into the rear of a big rig. However, the events leading up to the collision are currently unclear.
 
As a result of the impact, one victim was seriously injured. An AMR ambulance later transported them to El Centro Regional Medical Center for further treatment. However, their identity has not been released.
 
The surrounding area on the 8 Freeway was closed off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
 
As of this time, the investigation remains ongoing. Once available, more information will be given.
