Rick Musselman Dies, Richard Ellis Arrested in Antelope DUI Accident

ANTELOPE, CA (September 27, 2021) – Sunday, Rick Musselman, 47, a Citrus Heights man, died in a head-on DUI crash near Elverta Road and Dominion Way.

According to Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, the fatal accident took place at around 2:15 p.m. Moreover, responders pinpointed the scene at Elverta Road and Dominion Way.

Reports revealed that fire personnel rushed to the scene and extricated the victims from their vehicles.

Furthermore, responders transported one person to a hospital. However, the victim later died. Paramedics transported two more patients to a hospital with minor injuries.

Moreover, later details following the investigation revealed that 57-year-old Ronald Ellis, who drove a Toyota Tacoma lost control of his vehicle. As a result, he  drove into the eastbound lane and into the path of Rick Musselman’s Ford Focus.

Additionally, later reports revealed a female passenger also occupied the Ford at the time of the accident.

Ellis now faces charges of DUI causing bodily injury or death, DUI causing bodily injury or death with a blood alcohol content of .08% or higher and gross vehicular manslaughter. He will be booked into the Sacramento County Jail following his release from the hospital.
