OCEANSIDE, CA (August 8, 2021) – Friday night, a person died in a pedestrian crash on Camino Town and El Camino Real.
 
According to Oceanside police traffic Sgt. Rick Davis, the incident happened at around 8:40 p.m. Moreover, it occurred on El Camino Real and Camino Town, just north of State Route 78.
 
Reports revealed that a northbound vehicle appeared to have run a red light. Then, it struck a pedestrian walking in a marked crosswalk.
 
Furthermore, responders rushed to the scene and provided life-saving measures. However, the paramedics pronounced the 65-year-old victim dead at the scene.
 
Moreover, the driver involved in the crash remained at the scene. Afterward, authorities arrested the driver for the vehicular manslaughter charge.
 
Meanwhile, officials closed northbound El Camino Real between Vista Way and Camino Town to give way to the investigation.
