Fatal Two-Vehicle Accident in Henderson
HENDERSON, NV (May 10, 2019) – One person died in Thursday’s head-on collision on Volunteer Boulevard near Amigo Street.
According to police, a Mercedes E-350 and a Chevy Silverado 2500 pickup collided on Volunteer Boulevard. Henderson Police and Fire responded at 5:10 p.m. to investigate.
Authorities also believe the westbound Chevy collided with the eastbound Mercedes on Volunteer Boulevard. Under unknown circumstances, the Mercedes driver crossed into the westbound lanes before colliding with the truck.
As a result, the Chevrolet driver sustained moderate injuries while the passenger and driver of the Mercedes suffered critical injuries.
Paramedics transported all three to UMC Trauma in Las Vegas. One Mercedes occupant died due to the impact of the collision.
Crews temporarily closed Volunteer Boulevard from Amigo Street to Gilespie Street for cleanup and preliminary investigation. It has since been reopened.
The Clark County coroner’s office has yet to release the identity of the victim and so far. Furthermore, neither speed nor impairment played a role in the accident.
