1 Killed in Atascadero Traffic Accident on Highway 41 and Old Morro Road

 
ATASCADERO, CA (October 9, 2022) – Saturday afternoon, a person died and another sustained injuries following a head-on crash on Highway 41 and Old Morro Road.
 
The collision happened at around 11:45 a.m. on Highway 41 and Old Morro Road.
 
According to the Atascadero Police, a westbound vehicle veered across the double yellow lane and collided with an eastbound vehicle. Then, a third vehicle swerved off the roadway to avoid the collision and struck a telephone pole in the process.
 
Moreover, responders pronounced the driver of the first vehicle, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the driver of the second vehicle to Sierra Vista Hospital with major injuries. Also, the driver of the third vehicle was not hurt in the incident.
 
Reports revealed that the collision closed Highway 41 at San Gabriel and Los Altos. All lanes have long since reopened.
 
Meanwhile, the fatal crash remained under investigation.
