Driver Killed in a Crash between Train and Vehicle in South Bay
FREMONT, CA (March 12, 2018) – An Altamont Corridor Express (ACE) train crashed into a vehicle early Monday morning, resulting in one fatality.
The accident was reported at 6:00 AM just between Fremont and Great America. Around 7:41 AM, the collision was declared to be fatal when the vehicle driver was pronounced dead by emergency personnel. The victim’s identity is not yet released to the public.
Heavy train traffic that congested train and freight schedules was a result on the crash. Police continue to investigate the cause of the incident, as it is still unclear. No other information has been provided at this time.
