1 Killed and 2 Hurt in Palmdale Truck Collision on 170th Street

 
PALMDALE, CA (February 4, 2020) – A person died and two others sustained injuries in a pickup truck collision on February 1.
 
The head-on collision occurred at 8:30 p.m., on 170th Street East and Palmdale Boulevard.
 
Reports indicate that the crash trapped two people. Firefighters utilized the Jaws of Life equipment to rescue them.
 
According to CHP, a 60-year-old man drove a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 northbound on 170th Street, north of Avenue R. However, the pickup truck steered into the southbound lane and to the path of a 39-year-old Palmdale man driving a 2007 Nissan Frontier.
 
The Nissan’s motorist, a Palmdale resident, died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, medical responders transported the Dodge driver from Llano and a 29-year-old female passenger in the Nissan to Antelope Valley Hospital. They both received treatment for major injuries.
 
Authorities ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the collision.
