LAKEWOOD, WA (May 11, 2019) – One person was seriously injured Saturday evening after a car crashed into a building on Durango Street.
 
According to West Pierce Fire officials, the incident happened near South Tacoma Way, at about 8:40 PM. Witnesses saw a vehicle speeding down Durango before losing control and crashing into a building.
 
After a long extrication process, emergency responders transported the driver to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Further updates about the victim’s current condition were not provided. Meanwhile, a passenger did not sustain injuries in the crash.
